KPMG and NIIT Imperia
launches taxation courses
KPMG in India and NIIT Imperia on Wednesday announced a
collaboration to launch three taxation programmes to
meet the growing training need of finance, accounting
and taxation professionals in India.
The three courses are certificate course in tax
regulation, advanced course in tax regulation and
diploma in tax regulation. The courses will be rolled
out in 30 NIIT Imperia centres across the country from
February. KPMG's senior professionals will use NIIT's
tools and technology to deliver training.
The courses have been designed to bridge the gap between
theory and practice, and to prepare the tax
professionals for proposed regulations of the goods and
service tax (GST) and the direct tax code (DTC). |

"With India standing on
the threshold of major tax reforms, there is an
increased demand for knowledgeable and well-versed tax
experts. The collaboration will aim to cater to this
demand by helping create a pool of professionals who
would be equipped to deal with legislative and practical
aspects of taxation and also be prepared for the new tax
regime," said Uday Ved, head of tax, KPMG in India.
NIIT's chief executive (career building solutions) G.
Raghavan said these programmes will provide an ideal
platform to accounts and finance professionals who wish
to gain unique insights in the field of taxation.
Earlier, NIIT Imperia and KPMG had launched an
one-and-a-half month advanced certificate programmes on
IFRS to help companies and individuals transition from
Indian GAAP to IFRS. This programme has already trained
over 1,000 professionals in the last two years.
